Lost Track of Time

WOW!!  Just realized that 2 weeks from tomorrow, Aug 4, 2011, I will leave for Seattle, WA for a couple weeks.  I am driving by myself.  I'll spend the night in Eugene, Oregon that night and finish the drive the next day.

I have a youth group reunion on the 6th.  I was just asked to lead Worship!  Very exciting but making me nervous too.  I haven't sung in front of these people in more than 20 years!!!  So the Lord will do it for me!   I get to pick out music too.  Very fun!!

On the 9th I am having lunch with a friend from high school, Anita.  She was a year ahead of me, but thanks to Facebook we have connected again.

Ont he 11th there will be a mini reunion of my grad class from high school.  It was put together by some lady friends to anyone who wants to go.  I asked for something since I usually miss their get-togethers.  Looking forwad to this too.

On Aug 15-17 one of my very closest friends has take 3 days off while I am there.  It'll be great to get some good amount of time with her.

Somewhere in there I will spend a night or 2 with my friend Sherie.

I will stay at my dad & step-moms house.  So I'll get some good time with them too.  The last night in the Seattle area (19 or 20 Aug-ish) I will spend the last night with my sister in Tacoma (30 miles south of Seattle).  She will come to Redding with me and it will be easier to leave from her house.

Anyway, I guess I better start making some seriouos plans for food for my family while I am gone.  As well as munchies to keep me awake while I drive.

Happy Birthday Richard Sullivan Grace

24 tearsa go today, The Lord brought my son, Richard Sullivan Grace into this.  How grateful we are for him.  He has a heart that is huge!  He truly loves the Lord and his family.  He is such a blessing!!!

Yesterday was the annual Grace family rafting trip.  Camping for the weekend then rafting on Saturday and home today.  This year we onloy went up for the day yesterday.  We didn't camp or go rafting.  Finances being so tight this year.

It was a good day though.  We got to visit with family. Play cards all afternoon, or holy board.  Had a yummy chicken & dumpling dinner that Brian & Janet made.  I brought Richards favorite cake up so we could have a little birthday party.  It was a good day.

I am staying home from church today.  Kendall came home for the weekend from Chico.  She has to go back to work tomorrow and I won't see her for another week maybe longer.  Depending on her shcedule.

We are going to a friends Wedding today,  It'll be a good day!!
Hope yours is too.

getting started

I tried to start a blog a while ago.  It was more out of desperation.  So I am starting another one.  I guess I worry that I will write the wrong thing, or embarass myself.   I have spent my life needing to guard what I say, fearing rejection or anger.  I guess I find it hard to believe anyone would be interested in what I would blog about.  I spend too much time second guessing myself and everyone/everything else.

So enough with the pity party thing, here we go.....

I am middle aged (can't believe I actually posted that!!), married 28 yeaars to the same guy.  Amazing these days  lol.  We have 3 fabulous chillins:

#1 child is 25 and  working in another city only 45 miles from us.  I miss our Monday's at Barnes & Noble.  Hoping she can find a job here and we can start that up again.  She has a really nice boyfriend, for which we are grateful.

#2 is taking classes at our junior college.  He likes the cooking and theater classes.  He loves going to movies.  Having trouble finding work so we're still working on that.

#3 Just graduated from high school.  She works now and then babysitting for a couple familes.  One family, both parents work and they need her to fill in for a couple hours between the time one leaves for work and the other gets home.  She actually does a lot of baby sitting.  She's got her applications out in quite a few places so hoepfully that will work out soon.

My husband has worked for the post office for more than 20 years.  He is also with the army reserves.  He spent 6 months in Iraq.  But made it home healthy, physically, mentally and emotionally.

I work for a tax preparation company during tax season.  During the off season (April 20thish- Mid January) I work in that office 1 day a week.  Brings in a little extra money.   I did just put in my resume at a local mortgage office.  HOPING.

Time to set our steaks to marinate to bbq tonight yummmmmmm
